First Baptist Church focuses on people: singles, couples, infants through senior adults. We may all come from different places with different interests and talents but we are a family. The opportunity to improve the effectiveness of our ministry is increased with each new member.

Each Sunday morning we try to create an atmosphere in which everyone can enter into God's presence. Through the preaching of God's word, the use of various musical styles and other visual presentations, we invite each worshipper to actively participate in the worship service.

On Wednesday's we enJOY spending time with our senior adults in the JOY Group. They meet for Bible study and prayer at 11 am. Wednesday evenings provide another opportunity for education to our students. Children ages 3 thru 6th grade may participate in our Awana clubs. Our Youth meet in The zONE on Wednesday evenings as well.

All Wednesday evening activities take place from 6-7:30 pm.

Upcoming Events

Sweetheart Banquet

The Men’s & Women’s Ministries invite you to join them for the 3rd Annual Sweetheart Banquet on Saturday, February 11, at 5:00 PM in CF3. Our Youth Group will provide childcare and serve dinner. All proceeds and donations for the banquet will go towards the Youth Group’s trip to Dare2Share.  The final sign-ups for this fun event will be on Sunday, February 5.  The cost is $10.00 per adult and $3.00 per child.

Our Church Council meeting will be held on Thursday, February 9, at 6:30 PM in Rooms 8 & 9.

All Church Birthday Party

Our All Church Birthday Party will be held on Sunday, March 4, at 5:30 PM, in CF3.

Winter Jam

The Youth Group will attend Winter Jam on Sunday, March 18, at the Peoria Civic Center.  The cost is $10.00 per person. We will meet here at the church at 4:30 PM, and leave the church at 4:45 PM.

Trivia Night in the zONE

Trivia Night helps us to reduce the individual costs of our youth to attend the Dare2Share conference and our summer mission trip. This allows some students to attend these life-changing events who may not otherwise be able to afford to go. Arrive at 5:00 PM for rules & instructions and play until about 8:30 PM on Saturday, March 24 in CF3. $10 per person – 10… people to a team/table – 10 rounds of Trivia – 10 Questions each round.  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Sign-ups (teams organized) & $10 per person due by March 21. We will have a registration time after church on March 4, 11 & 18.  All entries will need to be in by Wednesday, March 21.
