We have several other activities

throughout the year

Messy Games: The school year is started with a Messy Games night that acts as an orientation for incoming members.

Fifth Quarter: The high school football season has also led to an outreach time called Fifth Quarter. After each Friday night home game, students are welcome to come to our activity center, (CF3), for a time of food, fellowship, and devotion.

Dare2Share: In the early spring, we attend this student weekend youth ministry conference that features a full-production drama, powerful worship, Biblical sessions, hands-on evangelism training, interactive games, and an afternoon outreach experience, as well as a celebration concert with a nationally recognized Christian recording artist.

Mission Trip: Each summer’s activities include a weeklong mission trip to various locations across the nation. The youth also work together throughout the year on various service projects that arise in the community.

Many other events and activities may include: SYATP Rally, Six Flags, Christian concerts, lock-ins, paintball outings, and movie nights.

The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church has a goal of teaching students the Bible so that they can learn and apply these truths to their every day lives. We also seek to help students grow in their areas of giftedness as they mature spiritually and physically. To accomplish these goals, we explore all areas of life as we study the scriptures. Our focus is on helping students face and overcome the challenges of life by learning to follow Jesus’ example.

During the week we have opportunities for students to engage in several activities. On Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. we meet together for an hour of Bible Study. The classes are divided by age groups; Junior High and High School. The teachers are prepared and ready to help students better understand the relationship of the Bible to everyday life. Students and teacher discuss the lessons, share their experiences, and explore how the Bible gives direction for daily circumstances. Following Bible Study, the youth meet with the rest of the church for worship.

When the zONE gathers on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m., both age groups meet together. We have a praise and worship time led by our youth band, WD42. We also have a time of fellowship and games. A time of devotion and study follows. When you join us on Wednesday evening, you will learn from scriptures about one of the Seven Checkpoints: Authentic Faith, Spiritual Disciplines, Moral Boundaries, Healthy Friendships, Wise Choices, Ultimate Authority, and Others First.
